CHEMICAL PEELS

The Experience:

This 45 minute treatment is short and sweet and great for people with limited self care time.  The skin is prepped with an AHA deep cleanse followed by a peel targeted for your specific concern.  During the peel you will feel a tingling sensation as your esthetician monitors this “controlled irritation”.  The peel is typically left on anywhere for 3-10 minutes depending upon your skin type, condition and sensitivity.  The skin is then brought back to neutral PH and we follow with our finishing products.  A great way to achieve lasting results in a short amount of time.

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peels use a wide range of chemicals such as fruit enzymes, lactic, glycolic, salicylic acid and retinol that cause the skin to peel and give way to rejuvenated skin underneath.  Here we use IMAGE Skincare’s uniquely designed peels to achieve these results.

What skin concerns do chemical peels treat?

Chemical peels treat an array of skin conditions and are a great treatment to correct:

  • acne

  • scarring

  • brown spots

  • fine lines

  • wrinkles

  • texture & tone

  • dull skin

  • hydration levels

What are the results?

Brighter and smoother skin are the immediate results.  If treating a skin condition such as acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation or fine lines and wrinkles results are cumulative and a series of chemical peels are recommended.  Your esthetician may recommend that you space the first 3 to 4 treatments approximately two weeks apart to kick start the transformation process and then follow up with monthly treatments for maintenance.

*Disclaimer: Individual results may vary; no guarantee of results.

Who should avoid chemical peels?

If you are using oral or topical acne medications chemical peels are not recommended as it would damage the skin’s delicate barrier repair function causing redness and inflammation.

If pregnant, peels that include salicylic and retinol should be avoided.  Enzymatic, lactic and glycolic are safe.

Those with rosacea should practice caution and seek the advice of their esthetician.

Aftercare:

A light flaking of the skin is to be expected after a peel so it is important to keep the skin nourished, hydrated and protected.  Using the proper cleanser, serum, moisturizer and SPF is essential if looking to achieve long lasting results.
